Papua New Guinea is one of the least urbanised countries in the world, with dense rain-forests, rocky high mountains, and a diverse indigenous population. Furthermore, its rich biodiversity is astonishing, there is approximately 6500 types of primeval plants and 380 types of primeval bird varieties, truly the world’s treasure trove of biodiversity.

Sigri Estate was established in 1950, at the western highland of Wahgi valley, producing high quality Arabica coffee. It has a very strict quality control process, right from the harvesting process: beans are manually selected and checked to ensure that there are no defective beans, by ensuring that the coffee cherries are ripe and full so that the coffee would have a balanced taste, before using traditional methods of processing which involves large amounts of water and tedious steps. Especially during the fermentation process, after 3 continuous days of using large amounts of water to wash and fully submerge the beans, the beans have a unique flavour different from beans produced elsewhere. Besides, after washing the beans, the beans are not machine-dried but sun-dried, giving the coffee a more complex and rich flavour.
