Endebess Estate is located beside Mountain Elgon which is found near Kitalen Town. The size of the estate is approximately 758 hectares, of which 248 hectares are used for coffee cultivation. Coffee beans are harvested from an area at an altitude of roughly 1750 to 1950 metres, and with an average annual rainfall of about 1000mm. The soil is extremely fertile volcanic soil. Kenya has been known for its high quality wet-processed coffee. Due to its superior environmental conditions, climate and coffee variety, a unique type of sun-dried Kenyan coffee has been created. At the beginning of the season, we specially visited the farm for a tour and to fine-tune the notes from cupping. After taking several samples, we finally took a liking to the flavors of this lot. It has a rich fruitiness and a rather distinct sweetness. The history of the estate dates back to the 1940s, when the estate was still owned by Mr EW D'Olloer and his family. The family not only processes its own coffee, but also helped the neighboring small farms with their coffee processing.
