Huila is an extremely important coffee-producing region in Columbia. The coffee is grown on the slopes of a valley formed at the intersection of the western region of the mountain facing the sea and the eastern region of the mountain. Located within is San Augustin which produces excellent quality coffee due to the Los Naranios river passing through, fertile volcanic soil, and moist climate. Therefore the “San Augustin culture” was born, and it brought fame to the place as a coffee-producing region.

It boasts a breathtaking riverside view - filled with large patches of lavender that are the homes of butterflies and birds-of-paradise. It is also where the mysterious and ancient Colombian large stone forest is located at. The natives here are highly protective of the land to prevent any destruction caused to it. San Augustin coffee is produced by Condor Cooperative, which purchases the produce of small local farmers. In order to maintain the high quality flavor of coffee, it only chooses the traditional Typica coffee, which is devoted to the production of unique and superior specialty coffee. The coffee is washed, and goes through another round of meticulous processing, and strict selection, before being conferred the highest export grade of SUPREMO.

It has obtained notable results in the COE competitions, and once crowned as champion (SCAA COTY Winner) among 100 types of coffee in the 2009 SCAA Annual Coffee Competition.
